Welcome to my shiny new website.
I am: a storyteller – I have been performing stories on stage since 2007; an author – in addition to having poems and shorts stories in magazines, anthologies, and reviews, I am the author of the urban fantasy novel Caged (under pen name JP Robinson) and the soon-to-be-released memoir in stories Stages: My Life in Stories; a presenter – I have led presentations, workshops and webinars for BAE Systems, The Brookings Institution, George Washington University School of Business, Jack Morton International, and The World Bank, among others; and a coach – helping people find their stories through one-on-one and small class sessions.
I am also the Founding Executive Director of Better Said Than Done, Northern Virginia’s premier storytelling organization with monthly storytelling shows in-person in and around the DMV and online everywhere. Better Said Than Done also produces the annual Women’s Storytelling Festival, each March.
I had an old WordPress blog that I used for years, back in the early aughts. Then I created a website geared around my novel Caged, The idea with this website is to merge my many storytelling worlds – speaking, coaching, writing, keynote presentations, teaching, books and, of course, storytelling. That is, if all those many hats leave me any time to keep this site updated.
Finger’s crossed that I find that perfect balance. And I hope you do too!
