Women’s Stories

It’s Women’s History Month, and women’s stories are something I am passionate about. In 2017, I created and launched Roar: Trues Tales of Women Warriors, an all-female storytelling showcase that has been performed by various storytellers around the country. That same year, I, alongside a team from Better Said Than Done, published Roar: True Tales of Women Warriors, a collection of 21 stories by women writers. And in 2019, I developed the Women’s Storytelling Festival, which premiered in March of 2020 and is now in it’s 7th year.

Last night I was invited to tel a story, in honor of Women’s History Month, at Fairfax City, City Hall, where the Mayor, Catherine Read, was presenting a Proclamation brought forth by the Women’s Commission, to officially recognize Women’s History Month in March, and International Women’s Day on March 8th.

Here is the story I told, at least, a version of it.

I am hosting / producing two more events this Women’s History Month that will honor and celebrate women’s stories. I hope you’ll come and listen.
